CJM CLass 67 - 67018 "Keith Heller" DB Schenker Livery
I am still marveling at the fantastic loco. 67018 "Keith Heller" in DB Schenker livery is staggeringly fantastic! I think I am running out of superlatives to describe your workmanship.
I checked out photos of the real loco and looked at drawings, and the model is so exact and realistic in every way. I am left full of admiration at your skilled craftsmanship - the attention to detail is truly superb. Running-in has started and I must say it moves like a dream, even over some of my own track work!
Many thanks once again for a superb model.

Well, when I came down this morning, I'm afraid the JMAs hadn't bred overnight so you'll just have to keep slaving away!
Now that I've had a proper look at them I can appreciate the plethora of tiny detail in the weathering which makes each wagon unique. The whole rake looks magnificent coupled to 59206 Pride of Ferrybridge and it's notable that the blue of the wagons is identical to the blue of the loco. The comparison with the train of Freightliner Heavy Haul HHAs is striking, mainly because of the close coupling of the JMAs. Removal of the inside buffers allows the wagons to be so much closer together. The National Power train, of ten wagons, is exactly 4.5 cm shorter than the Freightliner train.Needless to say, I'm looking forward to seeing the Freightliner train 'mucked up' to a similar standard.
Very many thanks for such a brilliant job. Passenger trains are gradually taking a back seat in my collection these days as they can't compare with the delightfully authentic goods trains I'm acquiring.

Parcel arrived this morning, beautifully packed. First impression is WOW!
I have to say I am delighted with this loco, and I am not that easy to please!
Your attention to detail is absolutely superb and I could very favourably compare this to a larger scale model and it would still come out the winner.
She runs very smoothly with a most attractive purring sound, and I'm sure it will improve with some running in.
You have restored my faith in British N gauge – it is possible to have fine scale detail and superb running qualities.

"This time Chris, you really have left me virtually speechless. What can I say? The level of detail, the livery, weathering, silk-like chassis performance... all together, a joy to behold, absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!"
"Honestly, 47711 is truly amazing, way beyond expectations, I am sure in coming days I will find even more aspects to enthuse over!"

"Just a quick note to say a big thank you for the Class 33 chassis. They are absolutely spot on. I now have serious remedial work to do to the already-detailed bodies to bring them up to something like a compatible standard. I have toyed with the idea of a CJM purchase for years and now I am absolutely convinced - the Class 59 looks very tempting...Thanks again. "

"The photos are very mouth-watering and confirm that I have made the right decision. Thanks for sending them.
I am absolutely amazed and delighted with 56029, the hybrid version of your Class 56. The loco is stunning in every way and you are to be congratulated with your careful attention to the wealth of exquisite detail that is incorporated into the model. The subtle weathering is simply superb. The loco could not possibly be bettered in any way."

Weathering and fitting Saturn Chassis to Standard Grafar Locos
"Well, tomorrowish took a long time. I have been a bit busy and didn't get much time to play!
First of all the MagicalChrisRat is as superb as always. I seem to have stuck with the greys so to speak, but all three MacRats look so authentic it almost hurts. 26040 is just as specified in the pictures I sent you. It runs fine after its stay at the University and looks as realistic as it can possibly be. I don't think you could get better in a larger scale. Although 26004 is still my favourite in its coal sector livery, I just love all three of these little locos, they are simply real.
Having had two class 37s and three class 26s, the arrival of 47550 was really interesting. Like 37519 and 37251, the body is Farish, but oh so different from the original. I know you did quite a bit of work on the 37s, and both are as exquisite as the complete CJM 26s. 47550 fits right in with the rest. Even the Farish chassis looks different. Your artistry has made the chassis look twice as detailed, chunky and intricate as it was before. And the body is fantastic. I have painted and renumbered numerous class 47s before, but this is much more than that. I really like it. And like the 37s you underestimate your work on other peoples locos. The 37s both look marvelous with their detailed body and your Saturn chassis, and this 47 looks terrific even though its just an 'ordinary' loco. I really like it and I am wondering how much detailing if any, you have done to it. How did you get the domino lights looking like that? Its nice and dirty without being too grubby. I am now very interested to see what the Intercity and Scotrail versions will look like.
All six locos look very well together, each having a Scottish flavour and just the right dirty grey grubbiness that makes 37251 stand out in her rather smug cleanness!"

"All I can say is that I have been transported back in time to my summer holidays in the mid seventies and I’m standing on Maisondieu Road looking at a BR blue class 26 quietly turning over in Elgin yard – more than likely that very loco as I copped it back then. Oh that sound…..
It really looks the part pulling your blue grey MK2s, and as that is the only stock I have which is of a quality high enough to have gained the right to be pulled by it, that’s all it will pull."

"Ever since I got 26004 I have been stunned as to how it looked. I have spent hours just looking at it sitting on the layout. It doesn't have to do anything, it just sits there looking absolutely right. Of course it does go, but I don't really care, I just like looking at it. This is probably the most realistic and accurate model of a Class 26 in any scale. I just love the cab side windows, the coal sector paint job, driver, handrails, snowploughs, correct bogie side frames, battery boxes- Are you hiding something from us, Chris? Have you got a minituriser in your workshop somewhere? "

Once again I am absolutely delighted with 56301. It is really superb in every way, the incredible detail, paint finish and chassis are all excellent. Even after so many years and so many models from you it is still a real thrill when a new, unique, loco arrives. It is a privilege to own CJM models which are in a different league to anything else that is available.
Ged Lee - 29/11/2007
My new 59206 Pride of Ferrybridge arrived yesterday and is trundling - or should i say gliding - happily round my circuit as I type this letter. It is an immaculate little piece of craftsmanship and I delight in studying the detail. Never before on one of your models have I taken so much time admiring the under frame and bogeys; the extent of the detail and the incredibly realistic weathering is astonishing. 59206 has a very distinctive and attractive colour scheme and contrasts very nicely with the EWS or Loadhaul colours of my other CJM locos.
So thank you very much and congratulations on such a brilliant model. Your models are never far from my thoughts these days, with the screen saver on my computer. I must say, some of the models depicted are really very dirty, aren't they?

"Thank you for the CJM loco Class92 - well pleased with it and still admiring your spraying skills + transfers that are applied - 100% outstanding"
Andy Stephney
"In a word - STUNNING! Many thanks indeed and it looks absolutely superb hauling my rakes of HAA's. The haulage power of the Saturn chassis is incredible - I put over 50 HAA's behind it and it sailed away with ease."

"I am really at a loss for words to describe the marvelous workmanship - the detail - the perfection in the livery (not least the red stripe, evenly along all the coaches in the set) I even put the coaches under the magnifying lamp and noted the perfection in the white rose emblem and the coach numbers - large and small"

"I am in danger of running out of words to describe your locomotives. Superb springs to mind - As always it is the combination of each element, nameplate, number, colours etc, etc, that comes together to enhance the whole effect.

"Addiction - Well, you see, I was at this exhibition in Brighton in 1987 and there woz this geezer selling "N" gauge locos and he said why don't you try one? And it was rather good Well I thought I was man enough to be able to take it or leave it. I tried some of the less addictive stuff from F*r*i*sh but it left me with withdrawal symptoms and frustrated. The only problem now, is that the use of the new drug CJM leads to a reduction of one's LSD usage."
Neil Adams - 26/9/2001
"Certainly, the loco has been well worth waiting for. I'd seen photos in the press and in your brochure, but it didn't really prepare me for the sight of the real thing. Every detail that could be wished for in N Gauge is there, and the paint job is magnificent. If handsome is as handsome does, then this model has it all."
