International N Gauge Show – CJM Stand Report 12th & 13th September 2009

After missing last year’s show it was good to be welcomed back so warmly. An opportunity to show off our updated stand, display lots of new items and rekindle friendships with so many people. A special thank you to all those of you who kindly loaned back models so I had something to display, without you the stand would have looked rather bare! Also to Gareth who worked round the clock to get the latest graphics and display boards finished in time for the show. He did a splendid job and received many plaudits for his work.
News :-
Class 58 First sight of the CJM class 58 master (it does exist) and whilst still being clothed in detail it was quite a talking point, these days there are other models to compare the CJM product with. I hope to have the model in moulding come the end of the year. From £425.00

WIA Arbel Don’t panic you didn’t miss it, it wasn't there, but it is at the moulders and should be in production in November. RTR and kit £TBA
Class 59 Aggregate Industries 59001 was there in all its glory and is in full production, the example displayed was super detailed even down to the bell above the No. 1 cab windows. From £425.00

DB Schenker 59206 was on display and really stood out especially when put alongside an EWS example, the model proving exceptionally popular. From £425.00

Class 66 Advenza Freight 66841 made its debut and drew many favourable comments and I have a couple left from the initial run if you are feeling tempted. From £425.00

DB Schenker 66152 also joined the line up and made for an interesting comparison with both the 59 and 668. This, like all the above locos are now being racked so I’m going to be busy with the air brush! From £425.00

National Power JMA Wagons These exclusive for CJM wagons also made their public debut although in pre production format with delivery of the production wagons due in mid October. Full details will be provided in a couple of weeks, but are looking at a basic wagon cost of approximately £24.00 (+ or -). They are going fast so if you are interested place your order now, no deposit required.

Loco and Wagon Refinishing / Weathering This was the first public viewing with considerable debate as to whether these were reworked RTR models or something hand done by CJM.
Of note, the DB Schenker 37 670, repainted into the latest livery with a Saturn chassis. From £395.00
The Class 50 036 in Large Logo livery, In this instance a complete rework of a model painted in the early 90s with additional detailing and weathering, not to mention cab interiors and a CJM Saturn chassis “were they really wire hand rails and the detailed buffer beam”. “Surely not the Grafar model” often heard. £POA
Also the converted / replacement Class 33 chassis, Class 47, complete rework and Class 57 detail paint, Saturn chassis and weathering. All prices for these can be found on the web site.
Similar comments were made about the class 08 and 09 re-detail painted, numbered and weathered to photos at typically £100 per model with the chassis stripped and rebuilt they run as well as they look even over most point work. A real transformation!

Wagons were there in many different shapes and degrees of weathering all had one thing in common. “ They look so real” I am pleased to announce that I will take any quantity from 1 upwards such are the numbers coming through the Studio, with prices unchanged at £10.00 for 2 axle wagons and £15.00 for all bogie wagons with the exception of container flats at £20.00 per pair. Please book your wagons in so they don’t spend too long here. Of particular note were the new Grafar JGAs and even the OBAs and OCAs

New and Previously Owned CJM Models. Large numbers were on display and many were sold so Gareth is updating these pages on the site at present. Many of you asked what the deal is on part exchanges and sell back, so here goes. These are now the most popular pages on the site!
Part Exchange. A mutually agreed selling price less any repairs, and a £25.00 service fee. This net amount is deducted from your new order for a CJM loco. CJM will stand any loss.
Sale or Return I will sell on your behalf at an agreed price and pay you out less any repairs and a 25% margin for CJM (a 5% credit charge may also apply) Any offers for less than agreed price will be referred to you for consideration.
New Customer Offer I am often asked “Are CJM locos really that good? Do they justify their price? I’m biased of course, but the only way to find out is to try one. So I am now painting a batch of demonstrators which will be loaned out against a fully refundable deposit when the model is returned. Should you elect to purchase a 66 or 67 then you can send a Grafar or Dapol model (even if it doesn’t work) with the original receipt and I will allow the full value in part exchange against your new CJM model. CJM customers can borrow “demonstrators” for use on layouts at exhibitions completely free of charge!
20 YEAR WARRANTY - CJM Saturn Chassis Warranty extended to 2018. Ok so CJM Saturn chassis virtually never fail, but now you have the peace of mind of knowing your pride and joy can be repaired for the total cost of return postage / packing £7.50. This applies to all models built since 1998! (Full details / conditions will be posted on the Saturn Chassis page of the web site) Servicing £25 and chip fitting prices £50 plus p&p remain unchanged.
To complete the report mention must be made of the CJM Class 67, I had a Royal 67 on the test track with a long mgr train running most of the weekend to considerable favourable comment. “That looks like a 67” “Now I can see the reason your locos are more expensive”……..!! The last sale of the day just had to be That 67, to one very satisfied customer amongst many!
The perfect end to the perfect weekend.

'N' Gauge society 40th anniversary show - 15th &16th September 2007
CJM is now back from the show and its business as usual. There was a good turn out especially on Saturday morning where the queue to get in stretched right down to the car park. It was good to meet you all and welcome new customers to the fold. The stand was a bustle of activity throughout the weekend, with plenty of chatting, admiring and lots of dreaming, not to mention sales and orders! News of the new Class 58 caused much discussion with orders being taken already, surprisingly most orders were for mainline blue livery. This year my son Gareth who is in charge of the website brought along his computer to demonstrate and introduce the site to those who had not seen it before. The reaction was exceptionally favourable and the high resolution pages showing the high level of detail on CJM locos left everyone most impressed. A special thank you to those of you who kindly loaned models for this exhibition which made for a varied and impressive display. Several of you asked if there was any significance to the the Class 47 Scotrail push-pull set with DBSO and the large logo 73 and 4TC set. Trust me there is! Whilst these models were produced many years ago, new updated models will appear in 2008 with other motorised EMU's added at the same time. It is also hoped to re-introduce the class 26 with Ben Ando's much acclaimed Kato chassis conversion soon. More details will appear in this section of the website shortly. Below are a few images of the stand.
