CJM Class 26
Originally built by Birmingham R.C.W between 1958-9 and initially introduced in the London area operating out of Kings Cross. The follow on “production” batch were allocated to Scotland. By the early 60’s all the Eastern Region examples had migrated across the border into Scotland. The fleet continued in service into the 90’s.
Initially all examples carried BR Green livery and then BR Rail Blue, subsequently they carried Red Stripe Railfreight, Coal Sector and CE Dutch. 26001 was named Eastfield whilst in CE Dutch livery and retained this when repainted into BR Green along with 26007.
In producing this model CJM have produced 3 distinct moldings “original” 26001 – 20, “Refurbished” 26001 – 20 and “Refurbished” 26021 – 26046. This enables virtually all variations to be produced giving a wide choice of variant and livery.
Originally introduced by CJM in the early 90’s, the model has now been updated with new buffer beams, driver and second man’s seat, together with new CJM / Heavily modified Kato twin flywheel drive chassis. This features correct 10′ bogies and a choice of battery boxes.
26001 – 020 BR Green (Disc Head code) 26001 – 020 BR Blue (Disc Head code) 26001 – 046 BR Blue Refurbished 26001 – 046 Selected examples all refurbished in Red Stripe Railfreight, Coal Sector, CE Dutch and BR Green Livery.
All locos can be super detailed with full pipe work at one end. Snow ploughs were only fitted to locos 26021 – 046 although 26008 may have carried them at some point. Both oleo and oval buffers can be fitted as appropriate. Lenz silver or gold chips can be fitted for DCC operation.
